Dear All,

Regards,
Hi,
You can get "MPEG-7 Reference Software" from a DVD. The DVD is sold with a book.
-Introduction to MPEG-7 : multimedia content description interface .
-Chichester : John Wiley & Sons , 2002
Regards,
Hi,
A web link with software in C++ and more for MPEG-7 .......
http://standards.iso.org/ittf/PubliclyAvailableStandards/
Regards,
Thanks Marcelo!!!
well am new to MPEG-7,and I have one more query.
where can i obtain the binary encoded stream, ie. BiM (Binary Encoded MPEG-7)?
it will be a great help if i can get both the textual as well as BiM samples.
Regards,
Amit Raj
BiM is MPEG-7 Part 1 and the most recent software for that is only available to MPEG members, I think.
However, within W3C there's another activity doing similar things. This group is called EXI [1] and for that an open source implementation exists [2]. Another implementation is [3]. I haven't tried them but if you do, would be great to hear your opinion on that...
Best regards,
-Christian

Hi all,
I'm also looking for the XM reference software and I followed the ISO link and found so many files there. I'm pretty new to MPEG7; can anyone help me by pointing me to the exact reference software link? Thank you so much!
Ps. Amit, hope you don't mind me crashing into your topic. Did you manage to get the XM reference software up?
the mpeg-7 reference software is available from:
http://www.lis.ei.tum.de/index.php?id=131
the lis - institute of integrated system at the technical university munich has been one of the main driving forces in keeping track of the mpeg-7 reference software and the link is stable,
best wishes,
Harald.
Hi,
I am also looking for this software. The site you mentioned requires a password. Do you know how I can access it?
Thanks!
-David

The site you mentioned requires a password. the password is "current MPEG meeting password" Ps. where can I get it?
Thanks!
Hi guys.
So any update? Can anyone reference to where to get MPEG-7 Reference Software (XM Software)?
I think Amit Raj, the author of this post, is interested in Reference Software in context of BiM - Binary MPEG format for XML (actually I am too...)
The first question is if XM Software contains implementation of coder / decoder of XML to its binary BiM format.
The second question is if XM Software is locked for non-MPEG members then how and where to get a couple of concrete examples of XML compression into BiM format. I mean, XML document, XML schema XML document is based on, and compressed version of this XML document. Implementation of ISO/IEC 23001-1 compliant BiM decoder from scratch (what my research group is going to do) seems to be very complicated job, and any examples or reference s/w will be definitely of great help.
Thank you for your time, hope for your feedback!
