The First International Workshop on Multimedia, Information Privacy and Intelligent Computing Systems (MPIS 2008, http://mpis08.ialab.cs.pu.edu.tw/mpis08/) to be held on December 9 to 10, 2008, Jiaosi, Yilan, Taiwan in conjunction with the 2008 IEEE Asia-Pacific Services Computing Conference

Multimedia technologies and intelligent computing are emerging rapidly as an exciting paradigm including multimedia signal processing, information hiding, evolutionary computing such as neural network and fuzzy theory to enable the process of creating applications of intelligent computing in multimedia for various domains. This workshop on Multimedia, Information Privacy and Intelligent Computing Systems is intended to foster the dissemination of state-of-the-art research in the area of multimedia and intelligent computing including multimedia signal processing, information security, soft computing such as neural network, fuzzy theory and genetic algorithm, and novel applications of intelligent computing in multimedia. As a follow-up to the workshop, we plan to publish high quality papers, covering the various theories and practical applications related to multimedia and intelligent computing. The published papers are expected to present high level results to solve the application services and various problems in the multimedia and intelligent computing fields. In addition, we expect they will trigger further related research and technological improvements of the multimedia and intelligent computing. The goal of the workshop is to bring together researchers from academia and industry as well as practitioners to share ideas, problems, and solutions relating to the multifaceted aspects of Information Technology as related to multimedia and the applications of intelligent computing in multimedia.

Proceedings: With regard to the papers submitted to MPIS-08, all accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings published by IEEE CS (indexed by EI).
